How to Clean Touchscreen Screens?

The touch screen has revolutionized the market for electronic devices. It facilitates communication between the user and his electronic device. Accessing the menus and sub-menus has become much simpler, with no need for physical keyboards anymore .

The keyboards had an expansion and did not increase the size and weight of the devices. Editing tools were also created and new functions could be implemented.

After the appearance of the iPhone , the touch screen became popular and thus, many manufacturers of electronic devices and especially mobile phones are adhering to the technology of touch screens. In this way, if it was necessary to use the keys to do everything before, today we can solve them with just a light touch with the fingertips.

When it comes to mobile telephony, the first cell phones with a touch screen arrived on the market in 2006. Initially only a few manufacturers worked with this technology, but they only worked when touched by a special pen that came with the devices. There are several devices on the market that use touchscreen technology, such as cell phones, computers, tablets and many other electronic devices.

Among the advantages of the touch screen is that the user can do whatever he wants, especially on the phonecell phone, faster than with a conventional device. The touch screen also ensures that the phone does not activate any function with involuntary movements inside bags and briefcases. The disadvantages found in this type of technology are practically nonexistent. However, the user must be more careful when the screens are very sensitive because, at some point, it may end up hindering the handling of the device, especially if it is a cell phone. However, what bothers most and generates some doubts are the possible scratches on the screen, and of course, the cleaning of the screen. As the screen is the part that is most occupied, some risk or even accumulated dirt becomes inevitable.

When touching the screen with our fingers, that there is a concentration of grease, or even some residue of dirt, it is inevitable not to dirty the screen. So, to ensure not only the durability of the touch screen but also the cleanliness, check out the tips below on how to properly clean the surface and avoid scratches.

  • Microfiber cloth: as it is not natural, it does not leave the uncomfortable hairs on the screen.
  • Isopropyl alcohol: as there are no other components, there is no risk of staining or damaging the touch screen.
  • Cotton and water: A slightly moistened cotton can solve the cleaning of the screen.
  • Durex tape: This tip is only for the brave. Place the durex on the screen, avoiding bubbles and, after a minute, take it out very carefully. They say the fat comes out.

Therefore, among the options mentioned above, the best is the good old towel. The ideal is to use towels made especially for cleaning this type of canvas, they can be easily found on the market. These wipes are developed from microfibers that do not harm the screens of the devices. Furthermore, the fibers of these towels were developed in such a way that when they are rubbed they do not cause scratches on the screens (unlike ordinary towels). So it is important to remember, nothing to use the bar of a clothes or even that paper towel to do the cleaning.

What do I do if the dirt is heavy?

It is not very common, but it can happen on a beautiful day that something greasy falls on the screen of your device, such as dulce de leche, chocolate or even any type of dessert. Do not despair, as well, do not be in a hurry to quickly pass on the screen whatever comes in front of you to try to clean. The ideal is to make a mixture of water with a drop of detergent inside a small bowl, then, with the specific towel for cleaning the screens, wet the tip and gently wipe the damp cloth over the screen. Then, wipe the dry towel to finish.

NOTE: If you do not have this type of towel at the time of squeezing, choose an extremely soft, lint-free towel. The process must be the same as mentioned above.

How to clean scratches from the touch screen

As we saw earlier, cleaning the touch screen is not that complicated. However, when there is a scratch mark, how should we proceed? Below are some tips on the subject. However, I am not responsible for any damage possibly caused by the chosen practice.

Toothpaste: To clean the surface of a touch screen, you need a white toothpaste and cotton or flexible nail. Place the toothpaste on the surface and rub lightly for five minutes with the cotton or flexible nail. After the allotted time, clean the display until all particles are gone.

School rubber: According to tests, the best rubber that the user can use to clean the screen is the rectangular green. To remove the scratches it is necessary to rub the rubber on the surface.

Special substances: There are currently some products on the market that promise to remove the slots from the screen. The process basically works as a polishing. To remove the scratches it is necessary to place a little of the product in the place of the scratch and with a piece of cotton, make light movements for about three minutes.

Automotive wax: Waxing cars is effective for removing grooves. The process is the same as the others. Pass the wax through the display and rub with cotton or a soft cloth.

The tips above look good and effective, however, anyone who uses a touch screen should keep in mind that caring is the best alternative. Below are some useful tips to keep your screen always fresh and in perfect working order:

  • Try to use, if possible, the protective film that comes with your device kit for a long time.
  • Never put your phone in your pocket with other objects such as coins, keys, key rings, pens and any other items that may scratch the device. If you need to use the pocket to store it, keep it facing your body, and thus avoid any damage to the device.
  • Always reserve a separate space in your bag or backpack when transporting the device with a touch screen.
  • Be very careful when handling the screen, do not use your fingernail to trigger the commands.
  • Always keep the screen clean and free of dust.
  • Never leave your device with the screen facing down, in contact with tables or other surfaces.
  • Do not use objects such as toothpicks, pen caps, pencils, staples, or other sharp objects to trigger screen commands
  • Do not leave your device loose in the car's trimmer.
  • Always leave your device in a safe place and thus avoid any fall.
